It’s not about the destination, it’s about the ride!” This is perhaps the only thought that rings true for every bike lover out there. Buying a bike is the first step for many when it comes to expressing independence and stability, but for some, getting a brand new bike may not be a suitable option, which is why they prefer going with a second hand bike.

Get Second Hand Bikes online in India

Contrary to the popular belief, buying a second hand bike is not considered a bad deal these days, and there are several motorcycle companies who cater widely to this defined segment of customers. However, there are certain aspects of buying a second hand bike that one should take into consideration before finalising on a particular brand or type. So, if you are a prospective customer, then you would definitely want to pay heed to these tips given below:
1. Define your purpose: All bikes come with different capacity levels, and so it is important to narrow down your basic requirements when buying a second hand bike. Whether it’s for long road trips, short distance rides or just for having a bike to run occasional errands, you need to sort out the purpose before diving into specifications. If you have several purposes, and not sure on how to narrow it down, it would be best to visit several second hand bike dealers and get test rides before you make up your mind.

2. Connect with other bikers: While online catalogues and e-brochures are informative and offer valuable insight, the most credible source of information comes from other bikers who know the durability, endurance, and luggage carrying capacity of different bikes in the market. They would be your best bet to acquire clear and valuable information on the available second hand bikes in the market.

3. Inspect the bike thoroughly: If you have narrowed down on a few bike options, it would be best to create a checklist beforehand, and do a thorough speculation of the second hand bike before sealing the deal with the seller or bike dealer. Visual checks are also reliable, because just by looking at a second hand bike, you can assess whether it is in a reasonably good shape or if it has been badly abused. The wear and tear of a bike is obvious at first sight.

4. Agree on a reasonable price: Often times a seller would try to con you with an exorbitant price, but always do your research about the different parts of a bike before agreeing on a price. A second hand bike is not worth the purchase if you end up paying more than necessary. Negotiation and research are crucial here.

Overall, you must consider all these viewpoints to make a sound decision. Thanks for sharing your article. We have bike paths all around our house and I see all different bikes. Down near our canal there's a bike path and people meet early in the morning and go for bike rides. I even see them out on the hottest days. Bike riders are a sturdy group.
