These careless workers on call

Who hasn't got a nightmarish experience with botched workers? I've had a number of them. Here are some examples.

These careless workers on call

The last time I saw botched workers at work was in Ireland. A couple of men had been contracted to paint the whole of a three floor house. They had to paint it from bottom to top, but taking into consideration that the house had been neglected and that there was damp in the two bathrooms, it was thought that it was going to take them quite a while. It didn't. The house was painted in one week, but shortly after the paint in the bathrooms started to peel off.
On another occasion, a neighbour of mine hit on the wall adjoining to my sitting room and a piece of my wall came off. After several complains I had to call for a builder that in a couple of hours drank three bottle beers, did a really botched job and grabbed 50 Euro.
It is worse when a computer goes wrong and one has to search for an expert on computers. The trouble is that most of us don't have a clue of what's inside a computer and when one of these so called experts deals with it and strange numbers start appearing on a black and white screen, one looks at it wondering what that must mean. They are the experts, one thinks, and must know what means and most important of all what's to be done. My last repair cost me 55 Euro for a couple of hours. Apparently, it worked for a while, but it went wrong after a short while. The next fixer formatted it the way I had already done, installed the system again and... 'Here you are, madam. It's 45 Euro!" Shortly after the computer failed again. Two so called experts on computers had apparently fixed it, had grabbed their money, but none of them as a careful worker would do, told me what the matter was.
I, who doesn't know much about hardware, suspects that it must be something wrong with the hard drive, but this is only what I suspect after having observed the way it went wrong.
One of my aunts was really an expert on wall papering and she did her flat often. Yet, on an occasion, she decided to call up to one of these experts that happened not to know how to place the wall paper behind a radiator well and it was my aunt the one to tell him how to do it well. 'Aren't you smart?' said the man at my aunt's skill.
What I think after a long experience in having to rely on such workers is that many that are unable to find better jobs go round offering their services as painters, builders, IT experts, electricians, thinking that it's a matter of doing the job in a blink, grab the money and go. It is not.
