This article is about establishing a culture of customer service in your organisation that is more than just good, by remembering that you are dealing with real people. It's not just all about the dollars. There is always something higher that must drive good customer service. It is love.

The business mind that is required to give good customer service

The business mind is not the spiritual mind because business works on profits, and spirit works with love.

These days, this means that you must engender a new mindset in your business relationships with people, because the new business relationship is no longer just a business one per se. It must be lifted to another higher level because the customer these days wants an experience, not just an empty transaction with you.

The experience must be based on mutual sharing in its way, because what you give to the customer is not just a service or a product any more, but a connection that brings the world in a new way to them.

You expand who they are by them doing their business with you.

Business is not meant to be only just an obsessional push towards just making profits

These days business should become more a lifestyle, rather than an obsession just to make money.

Business and business owners have been around since mankind was first created. Business is simply the role of mankind in the way that he runs his life to toil and to bring forth the blessings available to him from the earth.

Spirituality at its heart must take in all things into itself including business, because to be fully spiritual it must govern how you act in all areas of your whole being.

When we are truly spiritual that is us. We are not a businessman first.

If we place business or anything else first in our lives, this is not being spiritual.

A business is an Earthly arrangement of love in such a way that its participants can connect to others ethically and purely if they allow themselves to live from their spiritually based principles and ideals.

If however they do not do this, their business will create karma for them in the same way as does everything else that is not being considered within the light of God's love.

Customer service that is based on love

To grow anything in your garden requires having good soil, sunlight, and rain.

These requirements are naturally supplied by God, but we can help the process, by adding manure or compost for example, and watering our garden, when there has been no rain for a while, for instance.

Good customer service must be like this too.

The conditions must exist first as a given. Everything in your firm, or business must engender, or foster growth of the customer.

You should then go the additional mile to go out of your way to help the customer to grow in a more productive way, by supplying them with exactly what they need, not what you just want to sell them.

A business man might not think he could love his customer, but love is merely here representing treating the person as you would want to be treated yourself.

Don't try to be like a friend in a condescending way, but be genuine. This entails you being yourself in more conscious way, rather than you trying to be the salesman in an ego driven manner.

To be yourself, allow the other person not to upset you. You will become upset if you only want to make the sale, and if you have the idea that you do not want to waste your time either.

The sale and the idea of wasting time is irrelevant here. The customer must come first.

Love gives its time for nothing, but at the same time, love gives service in such a way that an optimal environment is created in which the customer is led to his purchase only if it is the right purchase for them to be making right now.

very true what you say cnwriter, I feel it is because nobody wants to own a problem these days, they just pass it on or up the line, or claim its not part of their job.

They stonewall you with lame techniques such as the broken record technique where they just keep repeating a line without really giving any proper answer. They fob you off in other words.

What you say is very true, Spirited. If we put and keep God first in our lives everything else will follow in proper order.

Thanks Jerry,

the bible tells us to put first the kingdom of God and all else will be added to our lives then.
