As the future of our economy looks unsettling and the fear of losing jobs are forcing people to re-think if working 9 to 5, 365 days is really what they want to do for the rest of their lives! Home based businesses are popping up everywhere and there are good reasons why.

Desire to Own Business

Many people decide to work from home because of the desire to work for themselves instead of others. They are tired of working on a regular shift for someone else and not getting anywhere in their position or life. They do not see a silver lining at the end of the day after the long hours of work out in. They feel betrayed when they get passed over for promotions. They get frustrated because their pay do not increase as fast as the inflation surrounding them. They get upset because they cannot stay home with their children or rush to them when they are ill.

Some people just are tired of running the rat race, trying to please the higher management for better perks. Some people simply cannot see themselves doing the work they are doing for another day.

Whatever the reason, once the dissatisfaction sets in, the need for change will automatically push for a drastic measure; from an office environment to a home environment.

Thank you articlemania, but are you able to make any money doing this? So far, it's been three years of writing to people telling them about money to be made on writing, MLM,Blogging, Forums, mailing lists the lot. The dollars are fewer and further between than ever before. Freelancing sets the entry bar so high I get giddy just writing their specified biographs, and then it's 1-2-3- strikes and your'e out, if you even manage to get a small contract. If this working from home is sustainable, please write about the intricacies as many fellow writers would want this as well. In the mean time I have revived my cellular repair business, doing that from home and surviving...juuust. :-))

Tranquilpen, so far my earnings have been getting me through and I am still learning everyday.

Freelancing, like, Rathnashikamani has pointed out, is a hard task. It involves time and effort. Most importantly, your ability to make yourself different from competition. I also believe you should be freelancing in not just one area but a few to ensure that you do not fall short in making your monthly payments if you are just starting out and till you find what you are really passionate about and what works for you. It all points out to how much you want to pursue instead of whether it will work or not!

It has worked for many and it is working for me too. That is why I write about them. Although writing is only part of my freelance activity, I still make a decent amount from it considering the amount of research and work I put in.

I will take note about the part where you suggested about writing on the intricacies. Thank you so much :)
