Prawn and Spinach Sodhi (coconut gravy) Recipe


1 whole grated coconut - extract about 1/2 liter of milk from it

15 medium size prawns - remove head and vein, leave the tail on

1 bunch (100g) of small leaves bayam - remove roots, watched and cut into 1 inch


1 (100g) onion - sliced thinly

2 green chillies - remove seed and cut into 1 inch length

1 (100g) tomato - sliced thinly

1/2 tbsp fenugreek (halba) seeds

2 sprigs curry leaves

1/2 tbsp turmeric/kunyit powder

1 1/2 tbsp lemon juice

salt to taste


1. Into a pot, add the coconut milk, onions, tomatoes, green chillies and fenugreek seeds.

2. Let it simmer over low heat.

3. Once you notice tiny bubbles are slowly starting to form.

4. Add the prawns, curry leaves and salt.

5. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.

6. Put in the spinach leaves and stir all together.

7. Another 3-4 minutes to have this done done and over.

Prawns & Cabbage in Lemongrass Coconut Gravy Recipe

This recipe is superb.It contains nutrients good for you and your family.


80g fucuk/dried bean curd sticks - soaked in water to soften

30g soo hoon - soaked in water to soften

29 medium size prawns - de-vein and leave the tail intake

100g Chinese cabbage - sliced into big pieces

6 garlic - chopped

2 cups thick coconut milk

1 lemongrass - crushed

3 tbsp oil

salt and pepper to taste


1. When oil is heated, add the garlic, lemon grass and prawns in.

2. Fry and stir until the prawns becomes pink and half cooked.

3. Pour in the coconut milk and let it simmer over low heat.

4. When the gravy is heated (not boiling), add in the fucuk, soo hoon, pepper and salt to taste.

5. Continue to simmer until small bubbles appear.

6. Off the heat and stir in the cabbage.

You may serve immediately after cooking.

Sweet Potatoes & Cabbage in Coconut Sauce Recipe

This is another kind of recipe that boosts good health.Try to cook this good for you, your lovely friends, and nice family.


4 (about 150g) small sweet potatoes - remove skin and quartered

1/2 (about 160g) cabbage - cut into medium size pieces

1 lemon lime - extract juice

1 cup fresh (carton) milk

1 cup water

3 tbsp oil

salt to taste

To Blend:

3 tbsp dried prawns (soaked in water for 10 min first)

5 red chillies

5 shallots


1. When oil is heated, fry the blended ingredients until the oil floats.

2. Add in the milk, water, sweet potatoes and salt.

3. Simmer to a boiling point.

4. Goes in the cabbage and the lemon juice.

5. Give a good stir and off the heat.

The taste is superior, serve right away.

Stokes Purple Sweet Potatoes Creme Brulee Recipe

1-1/2 cups Stokes Purple potatoes, baked and mashed

3 tablespoons sugar

2 cups heavy cream

6 tablespoons sugar, divided

4 large egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and 3 tablespoons sugar.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Remove the pan from the heat.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and another 3 tablespoons sugar.

3. Gradually pour the egg mixture into the saucepan, whisking constantly.

4. Return the saucepan to the stove and cook on low heat for 3 minutes or until the

mixture thickens. Add vanilla.

5. Layer the bottom of the cup with 2-3 tablespoons of the prepared sweet potatoes.

6. Fill the custard cups with enough of the cream mixture so they are about seven-eighths full.

7. Place the filled cups in a baking pan that is large enough to hold them all.

8. Add enough hot water to come within 1 inch of the top of the cups.

9. Bake for 45 minutes, or until the custards are barely set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out a little wet.

10. Remove the custards from the baking pan and place them in the refrigerator. Refrigerate overnight.

11. Preheat the broiler. Lightly sprinkle the surface of each custard with 1-1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar.

12. Place the custards under the broiler for 30 seconds and let them brown. Keep an eye on the custards, as this happens quickly.

13. Remove the custards from the heat,.

14. Once the sugar has hardened, serve.
