How my persistence and determination got me a refund from a hotel that gave me bad service

Being Harassed

I've never been prouder.
The whole thing started in January 2011 when I vacationed at the Excalibur hotel in Las Vegas. I had been wanting to go to Vegas for many years and I finally had the chance.
As soon as I walked in the door, before I even got to my room I was approached by someone trying to sell me a time share. After talking to the guy for a few minutes, we figured out that I didn't have the income to qualify for a time share, even if I wanted one.
That didn't stop them. In the five days I was there, I was approached at least 24 times by these sleazy rip off artists. It got to the point where I was looking for them and trying to avoid them as I walked through the hotel. I complained to the front desk five times, they didn't even pretend to care.

Demanding a refund.

As soon as I got home I started calling the hotel and demanding a refund.
I kept calling and calling and calling--at least 500 phone calls between February and July.

Their excuses for not giving me a refund were pretty lame. "All the hotels do it" That doesn't make it right. "Other guests don't complain" That doesn't make it right either.

At one point they tried to intimidate me by having their lawyer send me a "cease and desist" letter.
I don't intimidate that easily. I just started calling more often.
Last night, after more than five months I got an email saying my refund will be arriving tomorrow via Federal Express
I've never been prouder
