Trade between one state and another is called intestate trade. For example- trade between Delhi and Kolkata is interstate trade.

Types of home trade

Home trade refers to buying and selling of goods services within the boundaries of one country. For example- trade between a firm of Delhi and a firm of Mumbai is home trade. In this type of trade payments are made and received in the currency of the country. Home trade is also called internal trade or domestic trade. Such trade may be carried on at local, regional or national level. Local trade takes place with in a city or town, e.g., trade between two merchants of Agra. Regional trade implies trade between two cities, within a particular state, e.g., trade between a merchant of Lucknow and a merchant of Agra.

Home trade is of following types-

1) whole trade- this type of trade involves buying goods in large quantity directly from manufacturers and selling them in small lots to retails and other dealers. A wholesaler serves as a link between manufacturers and retailers.
Retail trade – it means buying goods from wholesalers and manufacturers and selling them to the ultimate consumers.
