This is my only framed work to date. It was purchased as canvas/floating frame together. I love the finished work.

River Secret

This piece makes me very proud.
It's amazing how much a frame can finish off a piece of artwork.

How I painted this
3 shades of blue using sponges, smearing and dabbing
ultramarine, midnight and aqua blue

Then I used a variety of old clothes- rags, towels, paper towels sheets
I save all old materials, especially ones with any kind of interesting print like courdoroy or velvet- these make wonderful dabbers for different textures and creations. I save old trousers, scarves...everything. Once too much paint has been used on a piece of material, I chuck it and use a new scrap. That's why my scrap box is so very full!

I used a variety of materials to add greens and oranges. I added a touch of yellow too.
Then where I saw the most colour, I added high gloss gel (avaliable at most art stores) to orange and built up layers to create depth.

Finishing touches- I used the back of a paintbrush and created small series of 'dots' around the painting. mostly white, some yellow and blue.

White is very appealing to me, it catches light and really makes art pop.
