Crowdsourcing sites are great work-from-home opportunities for anyone with a computer and internet access.
Why Microworkers Could be Your Favorite Site (From a Worker’s Perspective)
Though I have a regular-paying job, I do have a lot of extra time to spare which most of the time, are spent on flipping photos on Facebook, checking out what happened to who, playing free mind games on the internet, looking up lyrics of cool songs I stumble on Youtube, and all other stuff any bored person can think of.
But, yeah, I know I still have that hole in my budget that my job can’t cover, and I should be doing something more productive on my free hours. While surfing on the web one day, I came across forum threads talking about Micro Job sites. As it was something new to me, I did some research, tested one after the other, and found that it is a great work-from-home opportunity for anyone with a computer and internet access. It’s simple, fast and doesn’t get in the way of your regular schedule because you only work as much as you want to.
I have selected 3 different places I have thoroughly tested along with my feedbacks on each:
3 Websites I have tested:
1. MTurk (Mechanical Turk) – This is a huge website, owned by Amazon, and I must say, the most crowded microjob marketplace. The earnings are legit, but man! I wouldn’t want to work hours and hours just to earn 50 or maybe 75 cents in the end? They call the tasks HITS, and there are thousands of them, yes. But they only pay a few pennies for each. Not really worth my time. The biggest problem? The place is more Employer-friendly and is flooded by scam Employers. You often end up working for free =(
2. Minute Workers - another site where you can earn some cash by completing tasks requested by employers. They have a long list of jobs, but everything is everywhere. It is so hard to find the job you want to do because they come in really weird titles like “Sign up here!”, or “Do this quick 1 minute job!” or “Download and make money every minute!”. It drives me nuts having to open each job offer individually only to find out it is promoting a CPA-locked page where you have to complete a 10-minute survey before you can actually see what’s on the next page! Spelling errors are just everywhere and I even came across pages that contain viruses. And for many instances, these Sign ups asked for my Credit Card information. I didn’t feel so safe working around the place. Looks like Minuteworkers staff do not check at all what kind of campaigns they are running on their page.
3. Microworkers - My favorite micro-crowdsourcing site! The page is user-friendly, very easy to navigate. If you open the ‘Available Tasks’ page, the task list is well organized, titles are well-listed, making it easy for you to weed out the tasks you want to do and which ones you want to skip. Tasks are grouped into different categories making it easier to find tasks you prefer. So far, my favorite categories are "voting" , "twitter" and “facebook”. They’re quick and they pay reasonably. There are other categories like “articles”, “surveys”, “forums”, etc, I just didn’t have much time for that. The minimum withdrawal is $9 which is not much trouble to reach even for beginners like me. Every day you have a chance to catch from 50 to 70 new tasks, depending on the time of the day and from which timezone you are. I’m having much fun making $$$ fromt his site. But remember, to maintain their standards, they have rules (you should not spam, do not submit fake proofs, etc). All you have to do is just follow the rules and you’ll be happy :)
