Entrepreneurship isn't an easy venture, it's a very challenging and demanding endeavor.But once you have established it, it's a very rewarding thing. As I see it, the perfect metaphor for entrepreneurship is the principles of fishing. There are very distinct similarities with these two different things.
As an entrepreneur, you create value, either through your product or service. When it comes to fishing, the product or service symbolizes the worm which is used as a bait to catch fish. If we only have few baits, it's a no brainer that we'll only have lesser catch. But if you have a jar full of worms, then definitely, you'll have bigger catch. As well for entrepreneurship, we need to have an abundant amount of value in order for you to possibly profit more.
In fishing, the catch symbolizes your profit. And the fishing rod symbolizes your marketing strategy and marketing effort. If you'll just aim and throw your bait on a shallow water, then less likely you'll catch more fish. But if you threw it on a farther and deeper water, then more likely you'll have a greater catch. Just like in entrepreneurship, if you promote your product or service on a market with very few audience or possible end user, then you'll have lesser profit. But if you find a specific niche with a large market, then you'll have a larger profit.
It is less likely for a fisherman using a fishing rod to catch many fish, than a fisherman who uses a net. Because with a fishing Rod, he'll only catch a fish one at a time. But if he'll use a net, then absolutely he'll catch a great multitude of fishes. Just like in entrepreneurship, if you'll just rely on you own. Having the 'loner mentality', and you will just depend on your own production and marketing.Then don't expect for your business to grow fast, but if you'll have the network-they are the people that can be your affiliates, your contacts and distributors who will help you spread the good news and benefits of your product. They'll be your marketing force. Then you'll have a greater unlimited income potential and the growth of your enterprise will definitely be faster.
