The winds of Washington are shifting and many of those in Washington seem surprised because they were failing to pay attention.

The Changing Tide

July 10, 2010
Rep. Bob Inglis said in an interview with The Associated Press “Too many Republican leaders are acquiescing to a poisonous "demagoguery" that threatens the party's long-term credibility”. False. Those in office have threatened the long-term credibility of elected officials on both sides of the isle.
Rep. Bob Inglis and others want to point fingers at the “Tea Party” movement and to those who have caught the attention of the American people, such as Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck. I think the word he used to describe them is “culprits”. The problem Bob Inglis and others in Washington have is that they have become so caught up in playing politics that they have forgotten who sent them to Washington and why. It is hard to vote on an issue as a representative for the people if you are out of touch with what the people want. It is also hard to vote on any issue if you are not present when the voting takes place.
Bob Inglis is simply a sore looser. He was voted out because he no longer served the people, but himself. Lindsey Graham and others need to pay close attention to the voice of the American majority and realize that any movement is brought about by dissatisfaction of the people. Lindsey Graham didn’t ask the people of South Carolina how they wanted him to vote on immigration issues, he asked Ted Kennedy. Excuse me Senator, but Ted Kennedy did not vote you into office, the people of South Carolina did.
Inglis referred to an off the cuff remark by Sarah Palin when he said, "There were no death panels in the bill ... and to encourage that kind of fear is just the lowest form of political leadership.” This is another problem that seems to exist within certain Washington circles of elected officials. How they have failed to see the truth about how Obama is passing laws and bringing about appointments being forced on the American people by by-passing the due process of law? Why doesn’t the Congress and the Senate say, “Stop! This is wrong”. And the media said Nixon lied to the American people. Obama makes Nixon look like a Sunday School teacher. Even the main stream media Mr. Bob Ingles is beginning to see what you and many others in the House have turned a blind eye to and that is the direction Mr. Barack Hussein Obama is taking America. Mr. Obama and all who support or allow his bully tactics to continue need to understand is that America is still a Christian nation. Obama and other liberals who refuse to see God’s role in America are going to be fighting God rather you believe He exist or not. It will be interesting to watch the ACLU try to tell God that He can’t violate the separation of Church and State law. God has the final say, not the ACLU, not Obama and certainly not those who are pulling Obama’s strings.
Bob Inglis claimed, “It's not leadership. It's demagoguery.” No Bob it is not demagoguery that stirred up the American majority it is a repeat of “unfair taxation without fair representation.” It is the same thing that started the revolution of 1776. Lack of fair representation is moving this country to a revolution that is taking place at the voting booth. You Bob Inglis failed to give those in South Carolina the fair representation they hoped for when they sent you and Lindsey Graham to Washington. Jim DeMint got it. He listens to the people back home and you and Graham either don’t listen or you are so arrogant that you represent your own views rather than the views of the South Carolinians who put you in office. We the people still have the power to take you out of office as well; as you now know.
"I think we have a lot of leaders that are following those (television and talk radio) personalities and not leading," he said. "What it takes to lead is to say, 'You know, that's just not right.'" (The Associated Press). Wrong again Bob Inglis. What it takes is to know your American history and realize that the liberals, like the Tories want to make America into a country governed by a monarch. That is what we the people chose to free ourselves from. We the people are not ready to give up that freedom to a socialist style of government or to a new monarch or a dictator like Marshal Stalin.
"It's a real concern, because I think what we're doing is dividing the country into partisan camps that really looks a lot like Shia and Sunni," he said, referring to the two predominant Islamic denominations that have feuded for centuries. "It's very difficult to come together to find solutions." Finally Bob Inglis you got some of it right. The problem is you are still failing to see that it is Obama and his liberal supporters who are bringing this division of America about while you and others simply stand by and allow the extremist to run the show. The government of the United States was divided into three parts to maintain a balanced management of government. They are the Supreme Court, the Legislative branch and the Executive branch. It is Obama who wants to by-pass the laws of the land to push through his agenda, rather America’s majority wants it or not. So where is the balance in all of this Mr. Congressman. It is the extreme liberals and special interest groups that are trying to force the radical changes on the American people that takes away the freedom to bear arms, the freedom of speech and on top of that they want to make us pay through taxes for agendas that we don’t want. This is not about Obama-bashing Bob Inglis; this is about standing up for the American values so many have already died for over the years. That fighting spirit to defend our rights is going to the voting booths across American and you lost because you failed to hear the American people until they got mad enough to say “No More!”
Bob Inglis and others can blame whom ever they like, but we the people can still think for ourselves and choose who we want to lead us as a nation using the U. S. Constitution as a guide. We are not interested in those who disrespect and disregard that document and continue to bash those of us who still cry at the waving of the American flag and still choke up when we hear our National Anthem sung in English. The majority of us still bow our heads at games when a minister speaks to God on behalf of America.

It is sad that Bob Inglis chose to play the race card to try to regain some favor. What is taking place in America is not about race it is about the values and freedoms of “we the people”. Bob Inglis’ loss to Trey Gowdy was a clear message that many currently in office should pay close heed to. This change in the tide is not because of what someone is saying, it is about what someone is not doing. Those who were elected and fail to defend America will soon flow out of office and a new group will get a chance to heal the wounds of America.

Really fantastic article Michael. You tell it like it is...I like where you mention our politicians have forgotten who sent them there in the first place. And, that they "play politics" and do not serve the people anymore. Thanks for mentioning this. Blessings and best wishes for your writing.

JG,
Thank you for your remarks. I am really an easy going sort, much like ole Sam Adams was. He reached a point that he felt he had enough from England. It is so sad that those in Washington are failing to see how much like the rule of England they have become. George Washington was asked by Martha before they were married if he had a temper. He responded, "If suffeciently provoked." My hope is the enough people who love America and the values that made us great as a nation will become suffeciently provoked to go to the voting booths in November and know something about the candidets who are running for office. We must stand firm for family, neighborhood, community, and faith.
We be informed about the political and policy battles that are being mismanaged through by-passing the due process of law that the current administration does on a regular basis. It is critical that know our rights as citizens retake those rights. We must place in office senators and congressman who will defend America’s founding principles spelled out in our Constitution. No one in America should be exempt from the laws of the land and that includes the President and all elected officials who exempt themselves from the very laws that they place the citizens under. They avoid taxes that they force us to pay. It is time we remove this group and make sure we have fair representatives in Washington. Hope all is well with you.

Melinda,
As I read much of your writing, I began to hurt for the frustration you are feeling. You may even feel alone at times. When you feel helpless in defending yourself please read Psalm 139. Each time you read this Psalm remember King David was speaking to God for all of us and what King David says is true for all of us. Keep on writing.

Yes you are right Michael, adversity and suffering inevitably turn to grace which is a divine mystery for us. When we have suffered enough, smiling with our hearts for our own suffering, a transformation takes place. Suffering seems to accomplish what it started...the pain and frustration of the Cross is transformed by Grace into a crown of Joy. Psalm 138:8 says also, "The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me." Just as John Paul II stated, Never abandon yourself to despair, we are the Easter people, and Hallelujah is our song."
Dont let it trouble you where you become consumed, faith, hope, and love will take you where the Spirit leads you...Trust Melinda.
Kindest Regards to you Michael, Melinda and all.

Dear Michael, great article, as usual and I agree with you on so many fronts. I as a American, I feel so darn drained and just plain tired.
I have written my representatives for years, only to get fire kindling back delivered by my mail woman. I am so frustrated, they no longer listen to us, they are all about their party.
In all of my 46 years, I have never in my life ever saw this country as divided as I do now. I saw all of this coming in the 2006 midterm elections and sure enough, sadly the majority of the american people went on the I hate GWB for every thing kick all because, the media piped this in their heads. It is really sad to see our country go down like this and it is, do not think the worst is over, those in Washington D.C have just begun.
Once again, great article, holds true. God bless you and may God Keep blessing the Untied States of America.

Don't get tired, but angry. No I do not support anarchist movements, but I do encourage you to get angry enough to drive your senator and congressmen nuts until they do listen. Remember what God said to His people; 2Ch 7:14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
