Milwaukee has rich history of making beer. In the 1880's Milwaukee was home to more than 80 breweries. Today only a hand full still make beer in Milwaukee.
Miller Brewery
Miller is still part of Milwaukee, but they are also in partnership with Coors to help save on costs of everything. Each one is still operating as a separate unit. You can still tour the brewery for free there.
Sprecher Brewery
Sprecher Brewery started in 1985 in the Walker's Point area in Milwaukee from 1985- 1994. In 1994 Sprecher moved to Glendale, a suburb of Milwaukee, in a bigger building because the brewery was getting bigger. Besides making beer, they also make high quality sodas. You can also take a brewery tour for a small price of $5 for people of 21 and older.
You can visit their website for more information about the brewery, by clicking here.
Lakefront Brewery
Lakefront Brewery started brewing beer here in Milwaukee since 1987. They are located by the Milwaukee River near downtown Milwaukee. In the picture is one of their seasonal beers that they brewer besides their trademark brews that they make. They are one of the most popular breweries in Milwaukee. They have won awards and medals for their beer and also for being the best brewery. You can find out more about this great breay by clicking here.
Milwaukee Brewing Company
Milwaukee Brewing Company is a brewery that actually spun off from their restaurant/ bar called Milwaukee Ale House which is located near the Historic Third Ward. They do have a good variety of different types of craft beers. They do get their ingredients locally to make their beers. For more about Milwaukee Brewing Company by clicking here.
Horny Goat
Just like Milwaukee Brewing Company this also stated out with restaurant called the Horny Goat Hideaway. I don't know the exact year that started but it is one newest ones in Milwaukee. The pictures, your words, paint a delightful scene. Oh, and the smell of the brewery, must be just like an English pub. Thank you, Poetic.

Nice article Clarence. I live in Colorado where many breweries have become reality over the past twenty years. I plan on touring Samuel Adams in Boulder soon, I'll pass on the experience if you would like?
