Principles of Job Design, Characteristics of Personnel, and Personal Values

The security job design is focused on protecting the business and all of its different assets. The significant principles in the security design to help increase the success of security and the different business objectives. Some of the principles in the security job design are communication, access control, safeguarding information, and loss prevention.

Principles of communication are important to give and receive information effectively between, security and the rest of the business for management purposes. Access control principles help to decrease the threats in a business and increase the awareness of what is going on internally and externally. Safeguarding information principles are useful for protecting business data and increase the protection of different intranets and databases. Loss prevention principles are to lower losses of different assets throughout the business.

Security personnel need certain personal characteristics to meet the security objectives and communication the changes to employees, managers, and the rest of the individuals in security and the business. Security personnel play the leader role in a business and need to have personal characteristics to increase the success as leaders. Some personal characteristics of security personnel that are most desirable are trustworthy, dedication, confident, purposeful, organized, focused, and committed. Each of these characteristics is useful to help communicate more effectively and increase relationships effectively.

Certain personal values can relate to the success of career progression in any profession. For example, an individual that shows positive and professional characteristics will progress in any profession. Some individuals that are dedicated, timely, and show characteristics such as procrastination will most likely not progress as fast as other individuals that are dedicated and willing to be a positive role model for the rest of their peers and employees of a business. Personal values are not always learned behaviors from training, some individuals are naturally born or taught young to follow certain values and it can impact success in the professional setting.
