I've just discovered the JCI
I've just discovered the JCI, and all that I can say is: I missed a lot of time in my life doing nothing.
Well, to begin this story, that have just happened to me today, I will use a quotation:
"A life without adventure is likely to be unsatisfying, but a life in which adventure is allowed to take whatever form it will is sure to be short." Bertrand Russell
You may wonder why have I began with that, and all that I can say is : Life is an adventure, and adventures make us alive. That is one of the main ideas of being a leader.
To talk a little about leadership, I have to introduce this international non governmental organization that made me feel this need in myself to be a leader. This organization is the JCI.
JCI, What is it?
To be more formal, I could say that the JCI stands for Junior Chamber International. It is a worldwide community of young active people, students, citizens, whose ages go from 18 to 40, who share that strong belief which says that, "In order to create positive changes, we must take collective actions to improve ourselves and the world around us." Engaging in activities ranging from community development to international projects, members demonstrate their social responsibility and improve themselves through participation, leadership and action.
That's just a drop of water from a whole ocean, I think that I have said what is the most important.
How have I heard about it?
That is a very common question. I've just got my degree of Software Engineering, and by the way, I was ready to go meet HR managers in order to get more propositions (salary, activity's domain, nature of tasks...). I've just read about that forum that was organized by JCI Hammam Chatt, Tunisia, in order to establish a direct first contact between the "fresh" diplomees and the hirers. I registered on the website, and got the program of this forum, the main subjects that will be discussed...
