What is employment drug test? It is similar like drug test, but it is only conducted by your employers,
hence drug test conducted by employer for safety of employee is called
employment drug test. Earlier it was not common, but today, more and more
company are conducting employment drug test. There are many benefits of
conducting employment drug test and at the same time there are few drawbacks of
employment drug test.
Employment drug test create a drug-free environment where everyone feels safe and secure. There are many machinery jobs where safety is a major concern and employment drug test can be
very beneficial. Employment drug test is a kind of win-win situation for both
employee and employer because there are many harms of using drugs. Other
employees who do not use drug also feel comfortable in drug free companies,
hence it is necessary to conduct drug test by the employers.
Using drugs is a major factor of losing money and employment drug test can save money of your
employees that will help employer as well in long-term. It is also set a good
example for other industries and for society as well. Employment drug test is a
wonderful opportunity to show you corporate social responsibility
A drug-free environment is not only safe, but it attracts talent and it also helps in retaining the
talent. In some industries like aviation where pilots work employment drug test
is essential and you cannot work anymore without passing drug test.
Drug addict people cannot only injure themselves, but there is a high possibility that they can injure other as well, hence employment drug test is beneficial for all human beings. No employer wants to be known as the employer that hires drug users; hence employment drug test is necessary for employers.
There are many drawbacks of employment drug test. Unfortunately it comes with cost and employers want to save their cost, but as seeing long-term positive results of employment drug test it is are very necessary for both employee and employer. Another disadvantage is that employees feel it an invasion on their privacy. As far as employee`s privacy is concerned employment drug should not be conducted, but overall it is beneficial for employees drug test is a demand of today's world. Some employees may feel that their employer does not trust them. In that case employment drug test should be conducted randomly instead of targeted employment drug test.
