I know you all are aware of various forms of rewards for employees, but we are here talking about the best way to reward your employees. There is not a single best way to reward your employee because every employee expects different reward. Financial reward can be the best reward for one employee, but other employee needs recognition. Before rewarding your employee, you have to understand the best reward for an employee to give. The best way to understand best rewards for an employee is asking. Ask to your employees that which reward they would love to receive.
Another factor that comes in light is timing of the reward. Perhaps you are giving a great reward, but at wrong time, then it will not work. You should give the best reward at appropriate time.
In the process of giving rewards the main thing that comes in mind is partiality. If you do partiality in giving rewards, then it will ruin your reward system. You have to be fair on giving rewards.
Rewards are given on the basis of performance and the basis of loyalty. There are basically two kinds of rewards - 1. Financial rewards, 2. Non-financial rewards.
In financial rewards you can give incentives, bonus, raise and promotions to employees. In non-financial awards you can run recognition programmes, pizza parties, gift cards, certificates, extra leaves, etc.
Use new and creative methods for rewarding your employees. Sometimes additional training and simple thank-you can be the best reward.
In summary rewards are necessary to give because every employee wants to feel satisfied and appreciated. People are your most valuable assets and it is your duty to reward them from time to time.
