Painting is a not a new passion for me. I recently decided to put myself out there as a professional artist. I do commissions through word of mouth and small shows when I can. 'Sunset' was painted at 2am.
Sunset
I love sunsets.
I love the sky at night.
The colours that come naturally.
The changes that occur in the sky.
I have attempted to capture these colours on canvas.
Have I succeeded?
That is for you to judge.
I used acrylic paints and gel to create this triptych.
A triptych is a painting done in 3 pieces, but made to be shown as 1.
I love the yellow sliver of light coming over the horizon in this work.
The sky is smooth, I spread the gels evenly...but not perfectly.
The ground in the front is rocky, I dipped and dabbed the gels to create texture and shadow in the land.
Each painting is 8x10 inches.
I hope you enjoy my sunset.

I'm really not the one to judge or comment on abstract paintings because I have never understood abstract paintings.
